Two annual recital programmes bringing together professional chamber performance and advanced student showcase within the local community.
Since 2022, I have been involved in two distinct annual recitals at St Andrews Church in Muswell Hill.
Advanced Students’ Recital – Muswell Hill Violin Studio
As co-founder of Muswell Hill Violin Studio, I co-organise an annual concert dedicated to our advanced students. This recital offers them the opportunity to perform in a professional venue with excellent acoustics, supported by experienced musicians.
Preparing students for this setting requires careful mentoring, technical preparation and artistic guidance, ensuring they step onto the stage with confidence and clarity.
Each programme is thoughtfully curated around a theme. In a recent concert which coincided with International Women’s Day, our repertoire featured works exclusively by women composers.
Duo Klier Recital
In a separate annual recital, I perform as one half of Duo Klier alongside violinist Pablo Castro. Our programmes explore repertoire for two violins, including Michael Rennie’s Five Swingy Pieces; a suite of dance-inspired works demanding rapid stylistic shifts between Love Song, Rock, Dress Dance, Nightwalk and Finale.
Preparing these works involves close attention to articulation, tonal balance and character, allowing each movement’s distinct voice to emerge clearly.
Together, these recitals reflect two interconnected aspects of my work: nurturing emerging musicians and sustaining a committed chamber practice within the community.
